Use the error below and catalina.out and node.log in the server/tomcat/logs directory on the current machine to get more information. Select Retry to continue the installation.

Have you received this error while trying to install Informatica PowerCenter 8.6.0 Server on Windows 7 (or may be Vista also) operating system?
I got the same error and found a solution while googling on it. I share it with you, so that someone can be benefited.
Steps to resolve the error:-
- Change compatibility of install.exe to Windows XP SP3.
- Server install.exe can be found at following path:- ….PowerCenter_8.6.0_SE_for_Windows_32bit\pc86_win32_x86\Server\Windows\Disk1\InstData\VM\install.exe
- Right click on install.exe –> Compatibility tab –> Check box for Run this program in compatibility mode for Windows XP (Service Pack 3).
Thats it! Now you should be ready to give another try. Hopefully this time, you will be able to Install Informatica PowerCenter 8.6 on Windows 7, successfully.
